Amazing news coming out of the M-Files and Microsoft camps earlier this week – this news is about to put the world of document management into overdrive and totally disrupt the market.
M-Files and Microsoft have announced a global strategic partnership that will revolutionize document management.
M-Files has become the first document management system to natively store content within the Microsoft 365 platform. That’s right, you read correctly, M-Files will now be able to use Microsoft 365 and its API-only service, SharePoint Embedded, to store M-Files content and unlock native Microsoft 365 capabilities for M-Files AI-curated content, including agentic experiences delivered by Microsoft 365 Copilot and M-Files Aino. This deepened collaboration marks a fundamental shift in how you can manage enterprise content.
But what does this really mean? Well, businesses now get the best of both worlds in Document Management. M-Files document management system, now native to Microsoft 365, is a first in the market. The combined solution addresses major pain points for both IT and business users, including fragmented information governance, ineffective AI outcomes due to poor content quality, and siloed systems that limit enterprise visibility.
By bringing M-Files content into the Microsoft 365 fabric, customers gain a seamless, secure environment where critical business documents are easier to govern, collaborate on, and extract insights from- boosting productivity while reducing risk.
Let’s face it, Microsoft is pretty much in every industry within South Africa, Africa and the world at large, and we are all deeply invested in the Microsoft 365 platform, from using Outlook, Teams, Office, SharePoint and even CoPilot.
